About Me
I learned to shoot, process, and print in black & white from my father when I was eleven. A decade later I was photography editor of the University of Pennsylvania’s weekly magazine, and within a few more years I was processing and printing color slides & negatives for area photographers.
I started in digital image processing and digital photography before they’d become household words; at this point, I’ve been capturing, editing, and printing digital images for almost fifteen years.
I bring the sensibilities of a photographic artist, decades of experience and practice as a printer, and mastery of modern digital “lightroom” software to every image that is entrusted to me.
About My Equipment
To enable me to bring out the best in any image, I use state-of-the-art software and hardware.
My primary software tools are the latest releases of top photo editing applications, including Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Light Crafts LightZone, augmented by graphics editors like Adobe Photoshop.
I print on an HP DesignJet Z3200 and a Canon PIXMA Pro-1. Both have twelve ink systems with vast color gamuts and incredible accuracy, and with two blacks and two grays they produce black & white images that look like silver prints. In both color and black & white, shadows, midtones, and highlights are rendered with stunning depth, subtlety, and intensity.
